I am thinking of making this car part. It mounts in the recess of where the front license plate mounts.
Here is a picture of the same item on the front bumper of an (e23) 1988 BMW 633csi....

Yes, it's chronic

I find I just adjust the idle screw and everything is just fine, especially happens when I run my A/C. So, yes, just adjust the idle screw. :)

I bought a 2000 Stahl Blau on ebay 5 years ago. It's a beauty. I have 150,000+ on it. Igot rid of any oil leak. It's strong as death! :rofl:
