Did you by chance use a clear coat after using the 3M kit? In my experience, it helps protect the lens and keeps it looking fresh far longer.

The glass covers are only held in by clips so they can be transferred as long as you get pre-facelift lenses like below. I do not think they will work with the ones you linked....

Personally, I drove for 3 weeks and over 150 miles while the module was out getting refurb'd. Aside from no speedo or odo, there was nothing different and I got zero codes.
