I dont think any of those oils that you used meets the BMW LL-01 specs. While new oil is better than old oil or no oil at all, i would still look for something that at least met the BMW specs.

While i did not say anything about break in oil change or intervals, i've posted in other threads similar to this one that personally i recommend doing a break in oil change and then every 7.5k miles...

Its easy to distinguish the M54 from the N52, just do a Google image search and you should be able to know.
