So the issue did indeed turn out to be a bad connection between the positive post and the main battery terminal clamp. Since addressing this connection about a week ago the car has been performing...

I have two 10k Raptors in raid 0 for the OS/Apps and it's not that bad. They can be a bit chatty under heavy load but otherwise they are silent.

For a gaming rig it's a great setup IMHO.
