That was my guess, a bad chip.

Shipping via USPS doesn't incur brokerage charges and is cheaper to ship. That's the method we use when we ship the modules up north.

All E39s with DSC use the part in the link I sent you. If you have ASC you need a different module. Bosch changed the part number when they fixed the issues...

It's definitely worth troubleshooting the sensors at the DSC plug. Speed sensors shouldn't put your car into limp mode and keep you to 45mph though.
