Check your tires too. I have staggered wheels as OEM, but even if I had non-staggered wheels, my tires are directional so I still couldn't rotate them.

To be fair though, it's not the same as driving a manual transmission, is it? It won't let you make a shift it thinks will result in too high revs or damage the box, and as PPXYZ says, it won't hold...

Sorry, can't agree with that. Smaller engines maybe, but cheap, no. BMW definitely IS a premium brand in Germany, along with Audi and Merc. Non-premium would be VW, Ford, etc.
