I don't think there's much doubt it's a module communication issue. The problem is what's causing it. The network in these cars is surprisingly sophisticated. I thought TCP/IP was impressive :)

I got lucky and my budy's shop uses an AutoLogic. We just hooked it up to the OBD2 port, and pushed the update. Took like 2 minutes.

Using WinFDP to do it made me nervous, but I'll have to learn...
