Brakes are easy, do those yourself. Valve cover gasket is pretty easy as well. Learn some skills and buy nice tools with the cash you save.

If you can do it yourself, it's not really a hard fix, just time consuming. I drove mine with a really bad leak for quite a while, just kept an eye on the level.
