I may be wrong but I thought the front fender is just a bolt-on part, no welding involved. I don't know about Canada but it ought to be easy to source a used fender in your car's color.

When you torque down a cap nut too much, something has to "give." You're somewhat lucky if the cap nut snaps off before the stud bolts underneath strip out the threads in the aluminum head.

Is your water pump pulley metal or plastic? If BMW plastic, don't use threadlocker. Loctite will attack and crack/shatter the plastic around the bolt holes.

Is that small vacuum solenoid plugged in? I think it's called the "electric valve" and it's clipped on the rear underside of the manifold, all tangled behind the fuel lines.
