Is the noise present only when parked with the E brake applied and exiting the car? If so, I found the squeak to be the E brake on the driver's rear wheel on my 2000 323i.

I believe that my failure was do to the improper cap adapter or operator error. It was easier to buy a new cap keeping the old one for the next scheduled visit at the NJ Inspection station.

I replaced the shocks on my 98 2.8L with Sachs because to one of the original shocks started to leak. The replacements gave me the same OEM ride as the originals.

I have the same car that had the same issue a few...

I have the same car that had the same issue a few months back. I replaced the intake cam sensor ( 12 14 1 438081K ) which resolved the issue.
