Yup, definitely sounds like a loose spark plug. Remember though not to tighten it while the engine is hot, easy to strip the threads that way, only tighten it on a cold engine.

A bumper lip is also the first thing that hits a curb, parking spot bumper, speed bump, debris on the road, etc, which is why I don't think fiberglass is a good idea, unless the car is rarely driven....
