Depends on your state regulations and the ACV. I know for my state, NY, if the repair cost exceeds 75% of the car value it is declared a total loss.

Well that depends which one haha. Going uphill to maintain speed you should keep your right foot on the accelerator, while slowing down you might need to use hill and toe to brake while downshifting...
