The neons will lower your car's status from "upscale" to honda, toyota, and the such.

There should be two "sheared-off" screw heads. They're tamper-proof design. During installation the heads are designed to break off. Look for convex, round screw heads.

You can eliminate the MAF by leaving it unplugged. Under "normal circumstances" the car will still start, albeit idle roughly without the MAF.

Usually, when "jiggling" the steering wheel a thumping/dull knocking noise will be heard. If this is what you're getting, definitely inspect the inner and outer tie rods.
