I was thinking it may be aftermarket at first, but then I noticed the tiny BMW stamp and an LK stamp in a circle on the back.

The seven prongs are identified by stamped numbers starting from top...

What is this switch?

Anyone recognize this?

It is about the size of a window switch, (slightly shorter and wider)
It has seven prongs on the back and four buttons on the top along with a red and a green LEDs....

The steering racks notoriously spring leaks on E30s. I'd figure $150 for a good rebuilt one if that's what it it is + labor.
Lift it up, wipe everything off, and check things out.

I think this MINI looks pretty cool. Probably not designed for the MINI purist, but it is a sweet alternative to a CRV or Sportage or Escape.

I love the roof with the multi glass and solar panel. I also dig the side-swing rear gate.
But my favorite feature has got to be the "chrytal-globe" Nav System!
