Thanks for all the help guys, eventully got home...

Thanks for all the help guys, eventully got home and got the car into BMW and it was the ignition key so got new remote and a non remote keys and all is well.

They are sure its not the starter as when it does...

They are sure its not the starter as when it does work it starts very easily and there is no clicking or any noises, lights come on, no warnings turn to start and nothing, try again and it starts....

Ok yesterday I found that the plug that goes onto the sensor for the bonnet was unplugged so I plugged it back in and so far no problems, could it be that simple? don't want to unplug it just incase....

Get the codes read, could be a multitude of things from valve body, electronics etc etc, see the Rangie forum as their air suspension is always going wrong, might give you an insight.

I am thinking of the same move from a so far ultra reliable 3.0is to a 4.8is, the issues around the front airbags and the intermediate levers do worry me though. Nissan and Toyota have had issues...

Thanks for the reply bigwave, have bought a 3.0I sport, seems to be a great motor and so far is proving to be about as economical as my Deisel Rangie, must say that they are a very smooth car.
