Correct. I used an oil evacuator with a narrow gauge end to make sure I could get to the bottom of the casing. Available on Amazon or most any auto parts store.

Just an fyi; I did mine with the Motive power bleeder and catch bottle and never had to put the vehicle on a jack or take off wheels. Nipple on all 4 corners is accessible without doing that.
