Check the fuse in the trunk...I think it is #69...The one under the hood is marked in the lid. The one in the trunk is on the right side above the battery. There should also be a legend there.

Yes to the e38...and don't call me sport!! Actually I have driven a BMW V12 and was impressed until talking to the owner about comparison operating and maintenance costs between my 740 and his 860CI....

Yeah...the connector on the switch worked loose. I finally put a couple spots of RTV to hold it in place, but not make it impossible to replace should the need every arise. No problem since.

When I first got my 740i, the radio played but quit...static on the speakers when I 'played' with the volume etc. Just sometimes static and-or popping. It started working when I replaced the fuse...

Make sure you check eBay...I got mine for the e38 and the 325i used (was in very good condition) for $40 (e38) and $43 (e36)....They are great!

Harbor freight has the torque wrench for $19.95...was a good investment to me at 29.95 at harbor freight 6 years ago. I now have 1/4" . 3/8 and 1/2 inch.
