I heard that the way the car 'knew' it was in test mode was based on the steering wheel position sensor. On the dyno, the steering wheel could not be moved, so I'd assume it thought it was in test...

I really appreciate all the info. Overall you are fine. I think they now owe you goodwill since in southern FL your glow plugs have been used about 1/100 of mine in MA, and mine are fine at 80K.......

No noticeable difference, but I experienced no issues prior to the change. The 80K miles I have are like 95% highway so the old fluid was probably in pretty good shape.

The source of the carbon has to be the exhaust gas...
