Wow, never realised their was such a difference in octane ratings for fuel in the US. In the UK the standard is 95, premium is available in some places and thats 98 octane.

I don't think engine bay size is an issue, you can get the current Z4 with a V8 from AC. Plus the next Z is due to be bigger, in order to fit the folding top in.

It would make sense to use the V8...
