The Lukoil station in my town claims to use 100% gasoline. There are no stickers on their pumps to indicate otherwise. We always fill up there.

Keep in mind too that it doesn't matter the year or Z3 type that the hardtop came from. All Z3 hardtops fit all Z3 cars.

VoltPhreaks lightweight battery--what was the final verdict?

If I remember it was DWM that got the Voltphreaks lightweight battery. It was very pricey, but only weighed about 6 pounds.

How did it turn out? Anyone else running one?

If it's like my Z3, it does have a spring, but it still can be unscrewed. The spring might offer some resistance, but it won't break when the button is unscrewed.

The OP is driving a 2000 MY Z3. It's not the same Steptronic setup as in the 2001-2002 models. It's an earlier version and works differently.

That makes no sense. I've got the 3.0 with steptronic and it's no slouch. 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. If you want an automatic, you'll lose alot of the fun-factor with a 1.9 engine. No offense to those...

A '97 doesn't have the "steptronic" transmission, but an earlier version of it. I believe the steptronic transmission started with the 2000 model year.

Not sure they are sold separately from the whole rectangular surround. I asked at my dealership and they had one they gave me for free.
