Sounds like good advice from "pkpytfm". You might want to try bleeding it with a vacuum pump, (a cheap "Mityvac" works fine) Just be sure to apply a lot of teflon tape to the bleeder screw first....

They`re not high end but, the faux diamond plate units from home depot look good . they come with chains but can be flush mounted. As for "covered" against breakage, consider the plastic "over tubes"...
