A friend's 2012 E-class had them, and it's still active on the current CLA class.

Seems to be only BMW disabling them in USA.

Both of my previous Benz's had functional rear fogs. Don't know what reason BMW would have to disable them in the US. Likely planning to offer them as an 'option' at some later date.
