As you replace the plug, let it sit overnight...

As you replace the plug, let it sit overnight then dip a stick or wire or something in to look for water. If water, cracked head possibly. Probably no cam or valve issue.

The trunk actuator failure mode is not...

The trunk actuator failure mode is not electrical. You can still hear it work but a plastic arm of the solenoid breaks. Easy replacement.

On a 528 it's very easy, I've done in 2 hr. But would not surprise me shop charges 4. They might also charge $$ for part & it's delivery. Maybe try to find someone who works on bmws at home?

I have the HRWCT (hi rev when cold tranny) too, no codes. Agree it's a feature to warm up, but something's degraded. Still waiting for someone to positively isolate the cause. Not a big deal but...

Search on thrust arm bushing & lower control arm, both cause vibration when worn out
