Ever rebuild an alternator yourself? Its pretty dang easy. But first you have to get new carbon brushes that actually fit your alternator and the ones that I got already had the braided copper wired...

I still see a lot of those rim packages out there on 6'ers. They can't all be bad. They are still being used all over the US.
