Sold my 4 year old key cylinder, EWS, and DME for $200 last year when I broke my 97 528i apart. You'll likely get them cheaper at a u-pull it yard. There should be plenty 97 528's rusting away...

Here are my two brackets. The holes on the long part go into the side of the opening. The little "wing" part is what holds the top of the radio (under the screw hole covers) into the opening.

Just curious. I've been browsing the other boards and find that apparently folks are cleaning the solenoids on other engines. Is that possible on our older E39's?

Yeah, I'm not so certain that is true. If I remember correctly, the M52 (assuming he meant M52tu) was discontinued and replaced outright with the M54 in 2000 or 2001?

I don't think there was a 528 and a 530 E39 in the same year. A 528 has an M52 (or M52tu from 99 on) and a 530 had an M54. Take the 530, sell the 528.
