Sorry about the problem. Hopefully you turned on the hazards immediately...that's about the only thing I can think of to alert drivers around you that you're in trouble.

I try to drive without paying too much attention to the mpg display (switch to a display setting where it's not shown), also ignoring the shift suggestions (since I have a manual)...

There's nothing to that effect in the F30 manual. There was something like that for my E46...I don't know about E90.

The diesel is amazing. Aside from sounding like a truck, it pulls really nicely, the ASS is not as intrusive, and it gets 35+ mpg with absolutely no effort. By comparison my 328i would get about 26...

I had a net in the small box in the lower section of the trunk (in what would have normally been the spare well). Maybe you can check there. I can't imagine my dealer would give me anything free.

You already get better pads with the M-sport line.

Since you are getting M-sport, I'd say lighting package would be the first pick. Dynamic handling package is needed if you find the default suspension too hard.

I'm taking my car in for the first time tomorrow for rattles. They are now pretty persistent so they should be able to fix them.
