yeah i stand corrected, ive never heard of such a thing happening although it seemed all the problem cars were coil pack less. Id be interested to see if it could push the coil pack free of its bolts.

IMO that is not a tensioner issue, usually when a tensioner goes bad the noise is random when the chain has slack/no slack. That sound is something constant, I would take your valve covers off again...

when its in the box its compressed for smaller packaging but as soon as you lift it out of the box it should expand by an inch or so and should be somewhat difficult to re compress.

I have 195k, I could be wrong but like I said everything seemed in great shape. Possibly replaced by PO as I have a stack of receipts a mile high when I bought the car. Oil changed every 7k ish.
