Thanks for the responses - losing the floor vents doesnt seems like all that big of a deal, but losing the defrost is serious downside. Guess I'll have to keep looking for a manual unit.

Or perhaps "check" brake pads, I imagine. Odd, since the fronts are ~6 months old and the rears perhaps ~18months, but maybe I did a bad job installing the wear sensor.
