Never heard of this happening to anyone. Anyway, oil changes should be done once a year regardless of miles and is displayed in idrive when the time is near. So only 3 oil changes in 7 years is bad...

You already know what your car has been through...

You already know what your car has been through and who has touched it. You should get an 06+ because you want the facelift, newer idrive, horsepower etc. not because of reliability.

There's a ton of electronics and they are old and unreliable. It does not stop with the electronics either. Unless you DIY or are OK with paying someone to fix your car you should pass.

Just a thought and I would have to go out and check to see if this is the case for our E65/E66s but on most cars if you turn on the AC the radiator fan turns on automatically to keep the compressor...
