Yeah, I'm thinking it must be a function in the cluster chipset itself that varies the gauge based on signals from the sender. See what you get for reported levels on the function test. Not sure...

Does the speed of the car flux with the rpm flux when this happens, or is it absorbed by the slip of the torque converter? Might be tm related instead of engine if so.

Giubo is also called a "flex disc" and it mounts between the output flange of the transmission and the driveshaft. it's a hard rubber disc about a couple inches thick that bolts in between the two....
