Good topic, as far as I know the water channels out from the side of the bonnet cover /engine cover. But not 100% sure. Very bizarre issue. Good luck to diagnose.

+1. Can you see the big belt in front of the engine in one piece. Also, check the battery amd if the battery was replaced recently, it must be registered properly.

Both Bosch or NGK will work fine. I recently did all 4, Bosch and Ngk mix, working well. Front is easy to do yourself, rear are pain in the ass and need a whole lot of swearing and knuckle scratching.

This may be a wild shot, when you swapped the battery, was it registered? Otherwise you may have recharging/drain issues. There is battery recharge unit that can sometime go bad.
