Ok already put about 225 miles on the car, with no problems. It runs great. But this battery light is killing me. New battery and alternator but the light stay on. Seem like the system is changing....

Yes doing the timing is a must, and it's easy if you have the tool. As for the chain, why not just replace it for peace of mind. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Need help, is a 2002 X5 4.4, my battery light is on. I all ready replace battery, my voltmeter show 14.1 volts, and my on board is showing 13 volts. Any thoughts before I replace my alt.
