Thanks. Did take a look at the sticky but missed what you pointed out, probably searching for the wrong terms. After some googling the abs module also seems a likely cause. Will look into it.

How do you know it is not a vacuum leak? Maybe do a smoke test to be sure. Only asking due to the amount of places they can hide. I once had idle trouble on a previous e30 of mine, could not find any...

Strange engine noise starts at 2k rpm (video inside)

Noticed strange noise thats starts just under 2000rpm when engine is revved. Noise seems to disapear higher up in the rev range. Seems to run and drive ok otherwise.

Any ideas?

It should be the fuel pump relay you are jumping to test the fuel pump not the main relay but I am guessing that is a typo

Have not had the problem myself but isn't it common for the fuel pump...
