The N55 engine in the 2014 535i won't need a walnut blasting until well over 100K miles. It doesn't have the same serious carbon buildup issues as the N54 largely due to a much improved PCV system.

I have to agree with the others here. So many things would have to go wrong, in the correct order, and across multiple systems, that the chances are astronomical. I'm assuming you have Comfort...

Totally agree! Even though I'm considering a new toy, I have no intention of getting rid of my 535i M Sport. Still love that car as much as the day I first drove it.

Unfortunately, a valuation of $18-20K is way over optimistic. Even in excellent condition and loaded, the car was worth $11K trade-in or $13K private sale, best case. Only you can decide if...

Did you buy the correct harness? I'm assuming you have an N52 engine. It appears you may have a harness for the N54 engine based on the colors, unless the N52 and N54 harness are identical....

Valve cover gasket. Trust us. If you do the work yourself you'll find the rubber gasket is now hard as a rock and breaks into pieces when you try to remove it.

There's a slight chance it was caused by spillage during an oil change, but 95% of the time it's due to a leaking valve cover gasket. The VCG gets hard over time and splits or seeps. Depending on...

At 144K miles, you're out of luck. Sounds like badly leaking injectors to me and not a bad HPFP. However, there may be something else going on causing them to fail since BMW eventually gave up...

Smile My formerly reliable 535i is exacting revenge! But I still loveit!

I knew I screwed up when I started seriously looking at F-Types around the holidays and now my trusty 535i is making me pay! Since Christmas, I've had to replace the valve cover gasket, low pressure...

It's very easy to replace and the part number is 51317027916. There are a number of DIY's on how to do it. For example:

Too late now, but you don't need to completely remove the intake. Unbolt it and slide it back a bit. That will enable you to get to and remove that OFH bolt.

What color was the oil? If light amber, the chances are it was from a spill during an oil change. If dark, you probably have a minor VCG leak. I changed out my VCG over the holidays due to oil on...

Valve cover gasket replacement on a 535i. Not fun!

While checking my plugs last weekend I noticed oil in two of the spark plug holes -- a telltale sign of a failing valve cover gasket and at 115K miles, I knew I was due. So I bit the bullet and...

Perfectly normal. There's an vacuum controlled exhaust flap at the muffler which keeps one pipe closed below around 3000 RPMs. Some people bypass it to get a little additional exhaust noise.
