I checked those out, however the tips aren't coated, and the Z3's don't have a bulb shield, so I just stuck to the 9006s.

Might have a hard time finding a 6 cyl thats healthy enough in that price range. Just look hard at anyone you choose. Don't forget to check the trunk welds.

I wonder if it's a 4 cyl vs. 6 cyl thing. Mine is makes sound on decel. sounds like a whooshing sound. My friend's 4 cyl doesn't make the noises.

Yes, remove the seatbelt from the guide on the seat. Then continuously pull the belt all the way out until it's fully extended. Then let it retract. Repeat that 3 times and it should "reset" it.

Since you do not drive the car often, it's possible that the pooled oil on the exhaust pipes hasn't burned off yet. The smell on mine lingered for a few days afterwards and I daily the car.

It's possible you are mistaking electrical smell from oil burning? When my 2.3 was doing that, it was oil from the VCG dripping onto the exhaust pipe.
