Technically this is not true. BMW wheels are hubcentric, meaning the center bore of the wheel fits exactly on the hub. The lugbolts only keep the wheel tight to the hub.

I have a 6WA kombi retrofitted, and mine is fine. Looks like a defective kombi to me. Especially if it was working correctly.
