Thanks for the reply, I started the car the other day with the air filter box out and touched the idle control valve, couldn't feel it vibrating, it buzzes with ignition on, cleaned it and checked...

Hi,Could somebody please tell me, is the Idle Control Valve from an 1992 E34 M50 supposed to buzz when the engine is running or only when the ignition is turned on before the engine starts.

location of engine number

That number is stamped on the block between the engine mount and the starter motor I will try to take a photo of it tomorrow as its dark here now. I've looked at the photo above but can't work out...

Hi everybody I'm not having a good day here in Newcastle Australia it has been raining all night and all day. Filled the E36 up with fuel last night and parked it in the driveway, it was going great....

Yes. but as they are $63.50 and40.25 i thought somebody might know if they can be replaced with store bought fuel hose.
