Are you sure? When I purchased a new CCV plate from BMW it didn't come with those clips.
You really don't need them, the hoses fit tight (might need to trim off 1/2" from the end) and the vacuum...

You'll need to swap the subframe and steering to fit the V8 engine.
As long as you have a 540 to get all the parts from, wiring harness, all the modules, complete drive train, etc. it is possible....

I think you'll find removing the exhaust manifold it the quickest and easiest way to hammer them out.
They have a spline in the part that goes thru the flange, good luck.

My alternator seized at 90K which caused the PS pump to be torn off its mounts. If you spin the alt pulley and feel or hear anything then it's time to replace it.
The alt pulley should spin smoothly...

If you put the hood in the service position, remove the radiator and other parts in the front, swing the AC condenser to the side (don't need to disconnect the lines) you should be able to install...

What's to possibility your CAT's are getting clogged up? Not sure why the battery being disconnected would make it run better.
