Make sure the smaller hose at the top of the tank is fully seated. It is rather difficult to get it completely snapped in. Look at another one and make sure yours is seated.

The brackets probably got bent at some point. Most likely during towing at some point. I seem to remember this happening to another model from a tow. I will give it a little more thought.

No need to replace the coils unless they have failed. If they do fail you only need to replace the bad coil. Otherwise you are wasting money. they work or they don't no in-between.

By the way a couple of big electric fans blowing into the car will dry it out pretty fast. I've done that many times at the dealership. Overnight should get most of it dried out.
