They are prone to leakage. I don't know if it's due to aluminum that's too thin, a poor design, or just bad metallurgy....

Only BMW doesn't place them on their cars. The heat shields on bimmers are on the body and don't look like that.

It's likely the wear or failure of just one part, but you need the whole trans.
