On our 330ci with the sport package we have 18x8.5 et 35 front and 18x9.5 et 45 rear, I believe. Those are with 235/40-18 front and 265/35-18 rear tires. No issues so far after about 4 months.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. It ended up being a broken internal latch. Just take a pick and mess around inside the lock, thats what worked for me.
