The braking/acceleration bit was added to the LCI cars around November 2013. (at least in UK/ European models). Cars built earlier with Park Assistant only controlled steering.

Yes, it is definitely 8TH. Same as Speed Limit Info or Traffic Sign recognition. It does work extremely well in the UK.

Reads all kinds of signs and displays them in the heads-up in full colour.
