Not only the switched +12v power through the ignition switch (terminal 5) but there is an auxilliary power feed that is on all the time (terminal 9)...

If the compressor isn't 'compressing' then yes the pressure will drop. If everything is normal with the pressure switch jumpered then it is most likely a bad pressure switch.
