I'm not saying the $7 bulbs won't work and light up, but especially, a 6000k bulb will not be as bright as the stock 4300k bulb, besides being blue instead of white.

You get what you pay for with cheap blue Chinese bulbs, a serious downgrade with less light output than the stock OEM bulbs. There's a reason quality bulbs are expensive.

If it happens before it hot, it's probably not the oil.
If it happens after it's good and hot, it might be the oil...

Actually, all the Z4 M came with Bi-Xenon headlights as standard equipment, which is what the OP has. It was the non-M cars that Bi-Xenon was an option.

I'm thinking the previous owner swapped out...

It's weird someone would install a hit kit since the car came stock with bi-xenons. What is not stock about the HID kit? The ballast? Igniter ? Bulb? I would just buy the parts to return them back to...

What kind of car does she have? Totally different tech for the headlight assemblies between OEM LEDs vs OEM Xenon.

LEDs don't necessarily last forever. Aren't the Xenon bulbs in your car 10 years...
