As a Canadian and an '04 M3 owner, my thoughts are these are summer cars. The experience is what this is about. Performance and handling are not available (for the most part) in winter.

Steering Issue

WD40 is a temporary fix. Had the same issue and eventually replaced the power steering pump. It was the pump impeller shaft.

This is a common problem, well documented on this and other forums. BMWNA is very aware. Mine failed last year and the fix was $5500 Cdn. I negotiated with BMW and we each paid half.

If the car was an import from Japan, then you're going to have to purchase a new radio. My son has a 91 E34 525i. It was a German mport to Japan then to Canada. We've tried and I even contacted Sony....
