That's what I thought

I was more curious about the tune and getting that much Hp out of the same engine that made 325 stock. But it sure sounded good. If you read as many CL ads as I do, you can 'spot the outliers.'

Is this guy for real?

http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/4670174420.html

Involved DTC code question

I have a 1997 e38, M62 with a 5.2 DME.

I run for codes with carsoft and get:

70/D8 Phase sensor (I think that means Camshaft position sensor)

I look up code 70 in the Bentley manual and...

On my car, it was a coil going bad intermittently. I changed everything you are supposed to change, MAF, intake gaskets, plugs, vacuum hoses, etc. $$$

Then a moment of clarity. I did the old...

EWS is the security system, and it can become misaligned/broken with a low battery and ruin your day.

Because it happened to me, I think everything is the EWS module, but have you checked the hot wire to the starter with a test light? --while someone turns the key?

What turned the tide for me was pulling the ignition wire for the coil for every one, one at a time, then I diagnosed a bad cylinder, then changing the coil to isolate the variable. Bad, coil, bad...
