That is why .. only the late model 328 convertibles had the vented rear discs .. I've been doing some research about brakes on my sedan and am planning on upgrading .. prob gonna put e46 325 or 330...

Well I like the vented rotors .. but I know there's almost no benefit to it but I have drilled on it now and like them there just shot and need replaced ... and I figured it won't cost any more to...

I have a 1997 sedan with the solid rear rotors. I need to get new rear brakes and calipers and was thinking about swapping to the vented rear rotors. Do I just need convertible calipers in the back...

If I were you and the rest of the car was solid I'd do the rest of the suspension if you can afford it .. get new springs struts shocks mounts and replace the bushings in the rear .. I did bushings...

you dont need an impact wrench on that bottom shock bolt if was torqued properly, at least i didnt need to use one on mine, a breaker bar usually works if you dont have the heavy stuff

if you want to find out if the head gasket is gone, check the compression and also see if you have any white smoke coming out of the tail pipe, or just do what i did with mine, give up trying to find...

the little plastic screw on top of the tank is for bleeding of air out of the system and should be closed, those explansion tanks as far as i know are a common fail item on the e36, it prob just blew...

i had the same issue with my 97 e36, the very last u joint on the driveshaft seized up on me, i know this is tedious, but pull out the driveshaft and check to make sure the u joints are moving freely...
