To Bergo's question

I have bought two used manual wagons (530 and 535 E60), one from CA and one from MD. For both I had to pay extra because the dealers understood that they were rare. But recently being interested in...

Manuals are great

I have had three MT wagons, 2002 325xi, 2007 530xiT and now a 2010 535xT. They all worked very well with orignal clutches (now 125,000 on the 325, now 60,000 on the two 5 series). But as said by...

Why not think about an E61 too?

If you want a wagon it may make sense to look at an E61. I have a 2010 6MT sports that is a wonderful car to drive and very practical too. A lot of fun and even after 55,000 miles doing well.

Go for the 535xiT

Having owned manual versions of the 2002 325xiT, 2007 530 xiT and now a 2010 535 xiT, I can see that each has been better than the one before. The latest is so much fun, smooth, powerful(unmodded)...

Touring lack of choice - look at what they did to the E61 - this is worse

I cannot monitor all the threads but every time I see discussions on the forum of the X versus the equivalent 1, 3 or 5 series, it seems a very high ratio clearly prefer the non-X version. As the...

6MT or 8AT

If you have driven 6 MT, which get increaingly rare, and you are undecided, I suppose the 8MT can be a good choice. But if you have driven the 6MT and enjoyed it, why do anything else? That is my...

Android phone contacts

What shows up is very dependent on the quality of the Bluetooth stack. I have had bad experience with HTC phones, far better with Motorola. Google your phone for bluetooth performance. Good luck

Better luck with my 2007 530xiT 6 MT

I bought my 2007 530xiT 6 MT sport from a dealer at full asking price coming off lease CPO for $38K in April 2010 with 27,000 miles so recent suggestions of $45-50K for 2010 model year seem high. I...

BMW versus Audi

I too have an Audi (1998 A4 from new) in the family and it has been much more troublesome than either a 2002 E46 (from new) or a 2007 E61............

How different for an E61?

This was really good - the problem is also present for E61 too - any comments on how similar the fix is?

How different is a 2010 E61 from a 2007 E61?

I have a 2007 E61 6MT sport (CPO through March 2013) with about 52,000 miles with which I am very happy. I was thinking about hanging on to it for several years (it has been good so far). But I see...

E61 versus 3 series wagon

I went from an E46 touring (2002 - 6MT) to an E61 530 xiT (2007). As several have said the E61 is noticably bigger and IMO less tossable - but although I loved my 3 series, I love the 5 series wagon...
