Well if its the weekend and your stuck with it till Monday go buy a battery charger or some jumper cables (battery charger is safer :) ). Nothing wrong with have a battery charger in your arsenal.

Sometimes it doesn't "blow out" like it should and eventually dislodges the rest of the way.

Easy enough to check with a volt meter or a test light. Just make sure it shows power on all the wires...

It wont make any difference on the sensor since all your doing it putting the sensor back to where it expects to be for straight when adjusting the tierod ends to put the steering wheel back straight.

Adjusting both tierod ends equally is the only real adjustment for it. So either you do that yourself or it can be straightened out during the alignment.

Sounds like its low on fluid. If the fluid is cold it will pump up but not come back as fast to the pan. If its low that delay is enough to cause it to get air I the system. Check the fluid level.
