Sorry...I figured 4 quarts, and bought 6, hoping to get a much as possible out of the torque converter. Ended using 5.5 which means got some out of the torque converter.

FR4NK is most likely right, I would bet on it. Had the problem (and known a couple others that had the same problem} and it has been fixed each time by remarrying the plug and switch for the seat...

I did it with my brother on his 1997 740il. He had cross-threaded a plug. We used a "chaser" and it worked out fine. He has got to have 20K plus on that repair...!!!

No...the switch doesn't show anything on the dash either way. The spring loaded action of the switch seems to be good. It moves "momentary" into either position then returns to center.

I am "guessing" something in your ball joints, stabilizes bushing has worn to the point it is binding on one side. You could crawl under and look at all these parts and see if you can visually locate...
